Catholic Communicators To Make Social Doctrines Laymen-Friendly |
O
fficers of the Asian
Catholic Communicators Inc. (ACCI) met in CFA 08 May to discuss plans
to “popularize” the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church. The plan would
make the Church’s social teachings – including those on social justice,
governance, private property, stewardship, environmental protection,
poverty alleviation and interfaith dialog – more easily understandable
by lay people. The project would probably be launched with
the production of a video that describes an overview of the Compendium.
The meeting was chaired by Fr. Salvatore Putzu, SDB, of Word and Life
Publications. “Fr. Sal” is current ACCI head. Also
among those present were representatives of Jesuit Communications, St.
Paul Fathers, Institute of Spirituality in Asia, and host Communication
Foundation for Asia.
