Maximizing the Use of Media in the Church” is the title as well as the aim of the seminar to be conducted by CFA on Nov. 26 to 28, 2008. This is the concluding seminar in the four-year Training Series for Diocesan Media Directors sponsored by Aid to the Church in Need, Germany. Under this program, CFA has organized a total of 14 seminars so far, training a total of around 450 diocesan media directors, church staff and pastoral workers from various dioceses and church organizations all over the country.
This final seminar in the series hopes to broaden the reach of the diocesan media offices through the use of new media for blogging, podcasting and games, and to enable church offices to relate more effectively with the mass media through better handling of press conferences and interviews.
Among the resource persons will be Fr. Francis Lucas, President of Catholic Media Network (CMN), Fr. Stephen Cuyos, MSC, who is CFA’s Training and Production Specialist, Noel de Leon, CFA Director for Electronic Media, Training and Catechetical Cluster, Prof. Gary Mariano of the Department of Communication of De La Salle University and Ms. Luchi Cruz-Valdez of ABS-CBN Public Affairs.
There are 20 participants expected for the seminar, who will be mostly heads of diocesan media offices and other Church organizations.
